According to the research done by the World Health Organization (WHO), particulate pollution increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, lung cancer and many other diseases. Globally speaking, air pollution has reduced human life expectancy by an average of three years.
Solutions Provided by Palas®
Before we can tackle the particulate pollution, the first step we have to take is to measure the fine dust, which requires certified measurement devices that deliver well-founded measurement results even under varied conditions. With over 20 valid patents worldwide, Palas® has developed a certified advanced technology including particle and nanoparticle analysers, aerosol spectrometer, aerosol generator, diluters and other related systems and software solutions. Fidas® 200 and AQ Guard are currently the world’s only optical fine dust measurement systems which can detect air quality efficiently and accurately. They have advantages that other equipment cannot provide: single particle analysis for both fine dust fractions of PM10 and PM2.5, and meanwhile providing particle size distribution. This advanced and certificated technology has already been applied in many countries and regions.
Internationally Renowned, Providing Reliable Quality
Palas® has decades of experience in aerosol technology and launched the Fidas® 200 series in 2014. This series can monitor ambient air quality and has helped more than 1,200 monitoring stations around the world in order to improve the quality and reliability of fine dust measurement. At the same time, it sets a new standard for similar instruments. Fidas® 200 is the world’s rare certified optical fine dust measurement system with single particle analysis for PM2.5 and PM10. All Fidas® devices simultaneously measure PM1, PM2.5, PM4, PM10, TSP, the alveolar, thoracic and respirable mass fractions in accordance with DIN EN 481, and the particle size distribution with 256 raw data channels in a single measurement device and with a high time resolution.
Fidas® 200
Early Warnings, High Efficiency
Fidas® fine dust measurement devices detect burdens even before they arise, whereas other technologies only provide access to the results with a delay of several days in some cases. Therefore, in networked systems, rapid warning for environmental hazards becomes possible, which helps solve pollution problems quickly.
Reliability Leads to A Stable Measurement
Fidas® 200 is highly reliable, which ensures stable measurement performances even in extreme environments. This fine dust measurement device offer data availability in excess of 99%. At the same time, it can be used just as successfully in public measuring networks and conurbations as it is along coasts, in mountains, in the Arctic and in desert regions. Fidas® 200 with its drying system prevents falsification of the measurement results due to condensation effects under high humidity, which allows it to work reliably in fog and at low temperatures, such as environmental monitoring in networks, emission measurements, long-term studies, emission source allocation and propagation studies.
Fidas® 200 S
Small, But Multifunctional
AQ Guard series products are also equipped with Fidas® 200 unique aerosol spectrometer technology, but with a significantly reduced volume. It is the world’s leading compact ambient air quality monitor. By calculating PM values based on single particle optical light scattering, and also due to Palas® highly efficient aerosol drying systems, AQ Guard ensures accurate measurement under any conditions, even at 100% relative humidity (rH), which reaches a new height in the industry. Palas® AQ Guard and AQ Guard Ambient can provide accurate and reliable indoor and ambient air quality data as independent monitoring devices or used in monitoring networks.
AQ Guard Ambient
A New Dimension for Evaluating Indoor Air Quality
CO2 is a tracer for human breath. The combined measurement of CO2 content and particle size distribution can be used to indicate air contamination by germs and particles emitted by human beings. Auxiliary sensors for CO2 and volatile organic carbohydrates (VOC) built into AQ Guard provide data for calculating an Indoor Air Quality Index (AQI), which serves as an assessment of air pollution with respect to human aerosols. This is more specific and meaningful than a general Air Quality Index (AQI).
AQ Guard
