From July 13th to 15th, Palas®, the expert in particle monitoring from Germany, was invited to attend the 19th China International Environmental Protection Exhibition & Conference (CIEPEC) held at the China International Exhibition Center (Jing’anzhuang Pavilion). The theme of this year’s exhibition is about fighting against pollution and working closely around ecological environment protection, for the development of China’s environmental protection industry. CIEPEC also gathers excellent environmental enterprises and attracts high-quality visitors from all over the world. Palas® presented at CIEPEC with its cutting-edge technology, including Palas® Fidas® smart single-particle aerosol distribution spectrometers (SPADS), AQ Guard advanced compact analyzer for determining indoor air quality monitor, advanced nano-particle measurement system SMPS (scanning mobility particle size spectrometer), and portable fine dust measurement device Fidas® Frog. At the exhibition site, media from Hbzhan conducted an exclusive interview with Deng Jun, Environmental and Automotive Business Development Manager at Palas® China. Please click on the below video for more detailed information on the products.
On the site of the exhibition, Ms. Deng Jun, China Environment and Automotive Business Development Manager of Palas®, was interviewed by Eco Online. Please pay attention to the WeChat official account “Palas Instruments” and watch the product introduction video.
Focusing on the Prevention and Control Methods of Air Pollution
Fighting against pollution is the focus of this year’s CIEPEC. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), exposure to fine particulate matter from indoor and outdoor air pollution poses a significant threat to human health. Fine particulate matter, or PM2.5, with a diameter of less than or equal to 2.5 microns, poses a threat to human health. These tiny particles can penetrate deep into people’s lungs and then into the bloodstream, affecting organs such as the heart and brain. At the same time, harmful aerosols in the air can create haze and reduce visibility, leaving cities shrouded in thick smog, which in turn affects ecosystems. Therefore, how to reasonably control the emissions of pollution sources and use appropriate technologies to further solve the problem of air pollution is one of the problems that CIEPEC wants to solve.
Palas® Brings Several Technologies to The Exhibition
As an expert in aerosol monitoring, Palas® is committed to providing effective and accurate aerosol monitoring instruments that provide advanced technology for monitoring air pollution. In response to the show’s environmental philosophy, Palas® bring its excellent technology to the show site with SMPS, scanning mobility particle size spectrometer, Fidas®, series of single-particle aerosol distribution spectrometers (SPADS), and AQ Guard air quality monitor. The present scholars and experts showed great interest in Palas® instruments and had in-depth exchanges with the Palas® team of experts.
Fidas® Smart Single Particle Aerosol Distribution Spectrometers (SPADS)
Palas Fidas® series product single particle counting aerosol particle size distribution spectrometer adopts technology based on single-particle light-scattering and has obtained multiple patent protections. It is based on the patented T-aperture technology, which generates a T-shaped three-dimensional measurement volume, which can effectively identify boundary area errors and coincidence errors. The Fidas® 200 series uses a white light source for better durability. The Fidas® 200 series system requires low maintenance and few consumables to achieve cost-effectiveness.
Advantages:
· Certified according to TÜV Rheinland Germany and MCERTS UK
· Continuous and simultaneous real-time measurement of multiple PM values
· Additional information based on particle number concentration
· Adjustable time resolution from over 1s to 24h
· Cloud zone via Palas® server for worldwide data retrieval

Fidas® Frog Fine Dust Measurement Device
The fine dust measurement device Fidas® Frog allows a fast, reliable, and quality-assured determination of fine dust. For instance, monitoring within the scope of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management at workplaces (exposure assessment) or in the range of indoor air quality measurements (e.g., for offices, public buildings such as schools, passenger compartments, and so on). It measures simultaneously the environmentally relevant mass fractions PM1, PM2.5, PM4, PM10, TSP as well as the particle number and the particle size distribution within the particle size range of 0.18 – 100 µm. By providing fine dust values with high time resolution, the operator receives comprehensive information for evaluation and assessment of the fine dust pollution for the investigated application.
Fidas® Frog is under a compact and lightweight design and can be used as a portable hand-held monitor. It can be powered by either battery or mains and can work for up to 8 hours per battery charge. Based on these features, it allows a flexible application at any measurement site.
At this exhibition, Palas® brought effective solutions to exhibitors and colleagues and worked with industry experts to advise on the current particulate matter monitoring situation. In the future, Palas® will continue to develop particulate matter measuring instruments, enrich its own technical reserves, and help people resist the threats to health caused by particulate matter and aerosols. With a view to benefit scientific research institutions and related enterprises, Palas® helps promote and improve the quality of the domestic ecological environment.
