The Palas® Multi-Standard Monitoring Instrument Trusted by Qingdao University

The filter material test rig with multiple test functions is always favored by the university research teams. Unlike traditional filter media testing equipment, which can only provide mass concentration-based filtration efficiency at lower volumetric flow rates, The Palas® MFP 3000 G filter media filtration performance test rig can provide up to five different filtration performance tests in the range of 5cm/s – 100cm/s. Including pressure drop curve, initial classification efficiency, classification efficiency after step-by-step dust loading, dust holding capacity and gravimetric filtration efficiency. At the same time, relevant tests can be completed based on the ISO 16890 standard and a full report can be provided. The test rig can also be specially customized before leaving the factory to provide testing capabilities for up to six different standards for filter media, including:

–  Engine air intake filter:ISO 5011, ISO 19713;
–  Cabin air filter:ISO 11155-1, DIN 71460;
–  General ventilation:ISO 16890, EN 779, ASHRAE 52.2

The College of Physics from Qingdao University selected the Palas® MFP 3000 G for its research project. The Palas® filter material test rig has built-in standard test scripts, and the modular design can provide product testing for the research team of Qingdao University conveniently and quickly. Aerosol monitoring expert Palas® helps scientific research with accurate and stable monitoring data.

The choice of university research team

Qingdao University, located in Qingdao, Shandong Province, is a key university in Shandong Province. The College of Physics of Qingdao University is the key scientific research college of Qingdao University.

Before the Palas® solution, whether the test equipment can meet the test requirements with reliability and stability is the primary consideration of the research team. Fortunately, through the contact and communication with Link Precision Instrument (Shandong) Co., Ltd, the general agent of Palas® in Shandong, the research team learned about the German Palas® instrument. The testing capability of the MFP 3000 G all-in-one standard has left a deep impression on the research team of Qingdao University. As the leader of the research team said, ” Palas® instruments can meet different production standardization tests on one test rig, and the versatility of the test rig is exactly what we need today. After many detailed discussions, the final decision was made to choose the Palas® solution”.

Palas® technology for scientific needs

It is very important for university research teams to test whether the instruments can meet multiple monitoring standards and provide accurate and stable monitoring results. MFP 3000 G series, customized according to ISO 16890, ASHRAE 52.2 and EN 779 standards, provide test functions such as dust loading, grading and filtration efficiency, and pressure loss curve required in the standard. And the MFP 3000 G is equipped with a static neutralization device in the air intake. It is used to neutralize the charged amount of aerosol particles to ensure that the generated aerosol particles will be evenly distributed in the test channel. The specially designed aerosol inlet supports the simultaneous connection of three aerosol generators, thereby improving the automation of the software testing process and reducing personnel operations. At the same time, the structure is simple, and the replacement of the aerosol generator and the cleaning of the test channel can be completed more easily.

Palas® multi-standard filtration performance test bench can provide filter material and filter element manufacturers, university scientific research and other customers with test reports to measure various performance indicators of products. Including: pressure drop curve, initial classification efficiency, classification efficiency in load step-by-step loading, dust holding capacity, gravimetric filtration efficiency, most easily permeable particle size (MPPS) and corresponding filtration efficiency, etc. At present, Palas® has carried out in-depth cooperation with many filtration testing institutions, enterprises and universities, and actively participated in the standard setting of filtration industry associations.凭With the professional filter performance testing capabilities and the expansion capability to meet multiple standards, Palas® expects to provide more testing technical support for the filtration industry in the future.
