The Palas® Fidas® Ambient Air Quality Continuous Monitoring System keeps optimizing its operational capabilities while maintaining its stable monitoring. It can further help users reduce their carbon footprint. Not long ago, in a document from TÜVRheinland, this testing institute recognized that the power consumption of the Fidas® system was as little as 56 W, well lower than the 200 W specified in the manual. At the same time, some data calculations also show the outstanding advantages of the Fidas® system in terms of operating costs over a long period. The Palas® Fidas® Ambient Air Quality Continuous Monitoring System will keep optimizing and helping the industry save energy, lower carbon emissions and contribute to the goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality.
The recognition in terms of power consumption during standard tests
Palas® has been deeply involved in the field of aerosol monitoring for many years, and its Fidas® Ambient Air Quality Continuous Monitoring System is constantly updated and keeps pace with industry standards. The Fidas® 200 was previously certified by the European testing institute TÜVRheinland for EN 15267-1 and -2. And the Fidas® Smart 100 air quality monitor was also fully certified by TÜVRheinland for EN 16450 on November 14, 2022, click here to learn more about the EN 16450-certified Fidas® Smart 100
Fidas® Smart 100 is EN 16450 certified
TÜVRheinland is a trustworthy European testing institute. It has focused on monitoring product quality for almost 150 years. Its certification process for particulate matter monitoring instruments is divided into two parts: lab test and field test. During the processes of the measurement of the concentration of particulate matter PM10 and PM2.5, the two instruments of the Fidas® Ambient Air Quality Continuous Monitoring System have also proven their low power consumption in field tests. For Fidas® 200, the determined power consumption was well lower than the 200 W specified in the manual, which was 56 W in the test; For Fidas® Smart 100, the determined power consumption was 32 W during the test and thus lower than the 60 W specified in the manual. The data from the standard tests of TÜVRheinland proved that the Palas® Fidas® Ambient Air Quality Continuous Monitoring System can provide an economical and sustainable solution for particulate matter monitoring while keeping up with industry standards.
The recognition for Palas® instruments in terms of power consumption
Cost-saving tool in response to the standard
Since the implementation of HJ653-2021 Specification and test procedures for ambient air quality continuous monitoring system for PM10 and PM2.5 in June 2022, the growing demand for particulate matter monitoring has driven the industry to improve instruments and reduce O&M consumables as much as possible. Therefore, it can help reduce the actual operating costs of the detailed management of ambient air quality.
HJ653-2021 came into effect on June 1, 2022
The Palas® Fidas® Ambient Air Quality Continuous Monitoring System has high flexibility, and different models can be used for various application scenarios. In terms of energy consumption, the system not only has recognition from TÃœVRheinland during the testing process, but its actual application can also provide economical solutions for the users. Take the Fidas® 200 Smart as an example, equipped with a weatherproof cabinet (temperature range: -20°C / +50°C), this instrument is suitable for outdoor, alpine and coastal applications. It is also calculated that compared to other monitoring instruments, the Fidas® 200 Smart can save 100,000 – 150,000 CNY in electricity and consumables over 5 years. The flexible and long-lasting operation allows one Fidas® 200 Smart to meet the monitoring needs for 5 years. Therefore, it can save the user 50,000 – 160,000 CNY in the total cost of ownership over 5 years.

Nowadays, cost reduction and energy saving are the directions of improvement in the industry, and Palas® Fidas® Ambient Air Quality Continuous Monitoring System has been providing reliable and sustainable monitoring solutions for ambient air particulate matter. With its excellent operation capability, it can save electricity and O&M materials, helping the industry to move towards a better future together.
