German Particle Measurement Expert Palas® at CIEPEC2024

On April 12, 2024, the 22nd China International Environmental Protection Exhibition (CIEPEC2024) was successfully held at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing. In this environmental technology exhibition, the German particle measurement expert Palas® became one of the focuses of the exhibition with its innovative ambient air quality continuous monitoring technology and products. For more information, please check out the live video of Hbzhan’s interview with Jun Deng – Product Manager, Environment & Automotive at Palas® China.

Exhibition Highlights

Light scattering instrument compliant to HJ653-2021 — Palas® Fidas® 200 Smart ambient air quality continuous monitoring system

As the main product of environmental monitoring, Fidas® 200 Smart is one of the highlights of the exhibition, the Fidas® 200 series of single-particle aerosol particle size distribution spectrometer adopts the technology based on Mie’s single-particle optical scattering theory, which has been protected by a number of patents. At present, according to the requirements of HJ653-2021, Fidas® 200 Smart has completed the comparison with the manual weight method in the quality inspection room of the China National Environmental Monitoring Centre and passed the test. This good news undoubtedly adds persuasive power to the technical strength of the product.

Product advantages:
·   Help “one city, one policy”, mobile monitoring, intelligent traceability of particulate matter particle size real-time change information.
·   Quality control, second-level refresh, easy to install and operate.
·   One instrument is not only a particle size spectrometer, but also can monitor PM1, PM2.5, PM10 up to 5 PM values.

At the exhibition site, Fidas® 200 Smart demonstrated its ability to monitor the particle size distribution of particles in the ambient air of the venue in real time, as well as the high time resolution monitoring of multiple PM values with a second refresh of the test data, which attracted a lot of industry experts and potential customers to come to experience the product and communicate with the technology.

Palas® U-SMPS Enables Research and Supersites to Study Atmospheric Nanoparticles in Depth
Invited Peking University – Dr. Wu to give an online speech on “SMPS application in particle formation”

The Palas® U-SMPS Scanning Mobility Particle Size Spectrometer is a state-of-the-art nanoparticle measurement system capable of real-time monitoring of the number concentration and size distribution of ultrafine particles in the atmosphere from 4 nm to 1,200 nm, and is widely used in atmospheric nanoparticle research. A key feature of the U-SMPS is that it can be used in combination with the optical particle size spectrometer, Fidas® 200 Smart, to achieve a wide range of particle sizes from 4 nm to 100 μm which meets the higher demands of research projects.

Dr. Zhijun Wu and his team at Peking University’s College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering have chosen the U-SMPS to accurately measure atmospheric nanoparticle concentration and size spectral distributions on-line, providing key fundamental analytical data to study the mechanisms of new particle generation and growth. This time, Palas® invited Dr. Wu from Peking University, together with Jun Deng, Product Manager-Environment & Automotive at Palas® China, to give an online lecture on “SMPS application in particle formation“. We are looking forward to your active participation.

Topic: SMPS application in particle formation
Time: Friday, April 26, 2024, 14:00-16:00
Speaker:Dr. Wu Zhijun/researcher and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Environmental Science, College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering at Peking UniversityMs.

In addition, the AQ Guard Smart Grid Monitor for Ambient Air Quality demonstrated on site is based on the single particle scattered light measurement principle of the Fidas® 200 and can be loaded with gas sensors (e.g. SO2, CO, NO2, O3) to provide assessment of air quality data. The compact design of the monitor with its weatherproof housing makes it suitable for outdoor installation and measurements. Users can also choose to equip with a data cloud platform for plug-and-play, real-time viewing of air quality hotspot data.

Through this exhibition, Palas® not only demonstrated innovative environmental monitoring instruments, but also brought new monitoring technology concepts to the environmental protection industry. Palas® will continue to improve the technical advantages and quality of its products to meet the growing needs of customers, and inject new vitality and momentum into the development of environmental protection.
