SGS Selects Palas® Again

SGS is the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company. It is the benchmark for quality and integrity. Palas® already has strategic partnerships with many SGS laboratories: in China, India, Finland and many other countries. It is because of this close partnership that, when the SGS Suzhou Filtration Performance Laboratory needed stable dust aerosol monitoring, Palas® brand new RBG Aerosol Generators were immediately selected. With its advanced aerosol technology, Palas® powers SGS monitoring.

A trusted choice for users

All over the world, companies trust SGS for its independent evaluations and its accurate and reliable testing results. This is why SGS cooperates with Palas® for many years already. Palas®’s old RBG series aerosol generators have been around for more than 20 years and have been widely recognized by many customers for their dust generation stability and reliability. When SGS learned that Palas® was about to launch the new RBG series of dust generators and offered trial services to existing customers, SGS immediately reached out to Palas® to arrange a trial and be the first to experience the new product.

SGS trusts Palas® RBG aerosol generators for the following reasons:

·   Traditional dust generating devices are more used to generate high-quality flow of dust aerosols. Some standard filtration performance tests require lower mass flows of dust particles.
·   Due to the working principle, the dust generation stability of some generators still has room for further improvement.
·   There will be a certain back pressure in the filter performance test pipeline. Whether the dust generator can stably output dust particles under pressure conditions is the premise to ensure the accuracy of the test.

Palas® new RBG series dust generators can solve these pinpoints very well and meet the relevant requirements of filter testing.

Palas® Instruments Improve Measurement Accuracy and Stability

Prior to the adoption of Palas solutions, the stability of SGS’ dust generators under low mass concentration test conditions was less than ideal. One advantage of Palas RBG dust generator which attracts SGS is providing different concentrations and mass flow of dust via a combination of powder reservoir with different specifications. The minimum mass flow rate can reach 38mg/h, ratio of adjustment could reach up to 1000:1, and the dust dispersion is stable.

The German aerosol testing experts meet all relevant standards worldwide: European, US or domestic standards to provide the highest accuracy. SGS also trusts the stability and reliability of instruments made by Palas®. Palas® instruments have good stability in the number and concentration of particulate matter measured during upstream and downstream testing of filter element materials. At the same time, in the filtration industry measurement equipment, Palas®’s unique technology helps to promote brand awareness in the industry and has a higher influence in the industry. In addition, SGS and Palas® have already carried out an in-depth cooperation before, and they have global experience to endorse, which enhances SGS’s advantages in serving local customers.

New RBG System Aerosol Generator

Low concentration solid aerosols generated from dust and powder are suitable for many applications. For example, for research, development and quality control of calibration test stands for particle measuring instruments. The stability of the generator’s single dust generation and the lower feed rate are necessary prerequisites for the generation of low-concentration solid aerosols. In addition, the reproducibility of the aerosol generation process must be guaranteed. The RBG system can fulfil the above related requirements in the mass flow range of 0.04 g/h – 800 g/h. For mass flows from 40 mg/h to 800 g/h, the three new aerosol generators RBG professional, RBG basic and RBG solo meet all current requirements in many areas – from research to quality assurance and calibration. The dust or powder-filled reservoir is fed by state-of-the-art stepper motor technology, which ensures precise feeding to the dispersing brush over a wide mass range.

The RBG professional is also designed to be pressure-resistant up to 10 bar and is equipped with automatic volume flow control. This ensures high stability of the dispersion performance over a wide range of applications, even with fluctuating supply pressure. A pump for supplying carrier air is built into the RBG solo. This means that the unit can be used anywhere without a compressed air supply. All models also offer the option of remote control via a PC with the Palas® RBG Control software included in the scope of delivery.
