Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) show that 96% of the urban population was exposed to particulate matter concentrations above the new WHO guideline value of 5 \u00b5g\/m\u00b3 (PM<sub>2.5<\/sub>) in 2021. However, as Henrik Hof, product manager of Palas GmbH says, air pollution is unfortunately not taken seriously enough yet despite having a great impact on people and the environment. According to the WHO, more than seven million people die from air pollution every year. It uses the measurement principle of optical scattered light measurement on single particles based on the technology of the EN 16450 certified Fidas\u00ae 200.
