Palas® Introduces New LFT Series HEPA & ULPA Filter Scanning Leak Detection Testing Solution

Are you a HEPA/ULPA filter manufacturer?
Do you need fast scanning and accurate defect detection for HEPA filters?

Are you looking for a powerful and cost-effective original imported filter testing system?

The new Palas® LFT series HEPA & ULPA filter scanning leak detection testing system helps users to better provide fast and accurate scanning leakage test for HEPA filters based on ISO 29463-4 standard. It features a reliable switching system that allows one instrument to be used for both upstream and downstream measurements. When combined with a universal aerosol generator and a powerful dilution system, it protects the upstream measurement system from overlap errors. In addition, the LFT 1000 / 2000 can be used for on-site filtration system leakage and integrity testing (ISO 14644) for valuable traceability. The LFT series has a high degree of modularity and flexibility, allowing customized solutions to test a wide range of filter sizes at different air flows. What’s more, in order to respond to different testing needs, the LFT modular design can be integrated into different Palas® filter test systems, providing different customized solutions for customers.

Conforms to ISO 29463 – Palas® HEPA Filter Test System
ISO 29463 is a set of protocols for determining the efficiency of filters based on particle counting methods. The use of liquid aerosols in tests or alternatively changing to solid aerosols allows for Fraction separation efficiency of filters in terms of their local and overall efficiencies. The Palas® LFT system complies with ISO 29463-4 (EN 1822-4) and has a number of test functions. It provides statistics on aerosol production, measuring devices and particle counting, as well as particle classification, performance testing and labeling. In addition, it performs MPPS efficiency testing of flat media: polydisperse aerosols with an OPC (Optical Particle Counter) and (quasi) monodisperse aerosols with a Differential Mobility Particle Sizing Spectrometer (DMPS) or a Condensation Nucleation Counter (CNC).

The LFT series tests aerosols in the MPPS (0.1 – 0.2 µm / 0.2 – 0.3 µm) average diameter range. It covers all uncertainties and offers the possibility of always obtaining the right result for the test. ISO 29463-4 also specifies a “scanning method” test procedure for filters of classes ISO 35H to ISO 75U, which can be used to determine the leakage of the cartridge. In addition to automated leakage testing, the system allows for manual scanning, providing the tester with a variety of options to ensure the reliability of the experimental data.

Palas® LFT 1000 / 2000

Different Types of LFT Series HEPA Filter test rigs
The LFT 1000 combines the requirements of ISO 29463-4 for ISO 35H – ISO 45H class filters with a simple manual test procedure, allowing the use of a photometer manual scanning leak detection filter test system. Filter test hoods with different adapter sizes, benches with electrical and PLC controls, airflow systems with flow measurement and inlet filters are also available. It is also available with a particle instrument upstream of the test airflow and a sampling probe downstream. Real-time leakage percentage information and count and size information is available during the experiment via Windows reporting software.

The LFT 2000 is a manual scanning leak detection filter test system with an optical particle counter for manual testing using an OPC, filter test hoods with different size adapters, and a workbench with electrical and PLC controls. The LFT 2000 can be used with the same test setup as the LFT 1000 upstream and downstream of the airflow. In the measuring range 0.1 µm / 0.3 µm, real-time leakage percentage information as well as counts and sizes are also available via the Windows reporting software.

The LFT 3000 is a leak-test filter test system for filter scanning and is available with an OPC system for semi-automatic testing. Optionally, the LFT 3000 can be equipped with a filter test hood with different adapter sizes, a workbench with electrical and PLC controls, and an airflow system with flow measurement and inlet filters. The LFT 3000 can be set up with an aerosol generator upstream of the airflow, and a test traversing system downstream with sampling probes and an x-y coordinate system. When using the LFT 3000, the technician can access analysis results and correct errors through the main menu’s filter test, analyze, XY unit setup, promo setup, and system buttons.

The Palas® LFT Series HEPA Filter Test System is Full of Advantages
The LFT series is capable of accurately locating leaks and can therefore be used for production testing of high or ultra-high efficiency filters. It comes with a built-in test program with a choice of manual or semi-automatic operating systems, including advanced control and reporting software for specific target location measurements, leak visualization and more. It can provide final test reports according to regulatory requirements, which can significantly save testing time. In addition, the LFT series features high flexibility, easy mobility, compact design, and simple and intuitive operation, providing you with accurate evaluation and reliable test results.

The LFT 1000, LFT 2000 and LFT 3000 models meet the needs of filter cartridge testing for sizes up to 300 x 300 / 600 x 600 / 600 x 1,200 mm. The LFT 1000 is available as a leakage detection system with photometer for simple quality control applications. measurement in two particle size ranges, 0.1 µm or 0.3 µm. The LFT 3000 is also equipped with x-y scanning automatic traversing system. Based on standards, the LFT system can be customized to meet the needs of different cartridge sizes and applications, saving you time and increasing your efficiency in product development. Let the Palas® LFT series be your reliable choice for quality assurance and help your products stand out in the market.
